Board staff is currently receiving many inquiries concerning telehealth/telepractice/telemedicine, remote supervision, and licensing exemptions to practice under declared emergency situations. This Document presents a compilation of some Arizona statutes and administrative rules on the subject of telemedicine / telepractice. While staff would like to supply answers to those questions, we cannot provide interpretations of statute or legal advice, state of emergency or not.
Because states of emergency have been declared at the local, state and federal levels, many general state statutes and rules governing telehealth/telepractice/telemedicine, remote supervision, and licensing exemptions may be superseded by other state and federal laws governing these topics during such declarations. These are extraordinary times and given rapidly changing facts, circumstances, and the various declarations our “typical” answers to questions may not be correct, and answers provided today may not be correct tomorrow.
Please check back here frequently as updated guidance and direction on these topics may be issued and posted to this page. Thank you for your understanding.
