Notice - "John Martin" & "Steven Marshall" Scams
On September 23, 2024 the Board notified licensees of what appears to be scam telephone calls being placed to Arizona psychologists. A new or modified scam attempt is reportedly now occurring.
A caller claiming to be "John Martin" is contacting licensees to inform them they are to send money via Zelle for "Board duties and affairs". Some licensees have received what appears to be a phishing email from "John Martin"; this may be an attempt to trick the recipient to supply personal and financial information.
Please consider these to be illegitimate calls and emails, do not engage with this caller, and do not send any money. The Board does not employ a person by this name. The Board would never make this type of vague demand to licensees. If a licensee owes a fee to the Board, they are notified of that fact in writing with its precise purpose and the statutory basis for the fee is cited.
